Raising & spending funds

Fundraising

Like most P.T.F.A.s, the majority of our funds are raised through the events that we run. Some of our most popular events are the Beetle Drive, the May Fair and our social evenings.

We always try and respond to the children’s requests for events and it is truly the icing on the cake to see them having fun at an event or using equipment that the P.T.F.A. has been able to buy from funds raised.

Donations are the lifeblood of the P.T.F.A. – this includes donations of people’s time, money, items for sale, raffle prizes or offers of services or skills.

Where the money goes

Once money is raised from events the funds are banked straight away. It is at our P.T.F.A. meetings that decisions on how to spend the money are agreed.

Usually, the school will have a ‘shopping list’ of items that they would like to purchase.

Sometimes this will be as a result of the children asking for something. At other times it will be for resources to improve a particular area of the curriculum or school environment. In the main, the P.T.F.A. funds are for the ‘extras’ not provided by the school budget, that make our children’s learning experiences so much more fulfilling and exciting.

We always endeavour to spend our funds in ways that will benefit all our children across all areas of the school and curriculum.

The money we raise is usually spent fairly quickly. That way, you can be sure that in supporting our school, your child will feel the benefit, along with everybody else. Over the last 5 years funds raised by the P.T.F.A. have helped to purchase

Isn’t that amazing?

The P.T.F.A. also has ongoing commitments every year. We fund the provision of book bags for Reception class and pay for the infant and junior discos.
