PTFA

Who we are

The P.T.F.A. aims to help the school and our children, primarily by providing additional resources outside of the normal school budget. We do this by organising various social events where the wider school community can come together, get to know each other, have a good time – and hopefully raise funds.

Like all P.T.F.A.’s, we rely on parents’ support and are very grateful to the many people who give up their time to help run our events.

The P.T.F.A. is a mixture of parents. Some are full time parents or full/part time workers. NONE of us have fancy skills or big egos – we just want to work together for the benefit of the school.

What we do

We are very fortunate at our school to have a P.T.F.A. that is and has been such an integral part of the school community for many years. In its time the P.T.F.A. has organised lots of fantastic events and raised thousands of pounds, which has been spent on improving equipment and resources to enhance our children’s education and facilities in school in general.

But our P.T.F.A. is about much, much more than just fundraising. The P.T.F.A. exists to provide closer links between home and school, and is an excellent way to bring Northfold staff, families and friends together socially in support of the school and to have fun.

How we get information to you

P.T.F.A. letters are sent home mainly by email. The letters include information on forthcoming events and dates plus requests for assistance. Following a P.T.F.A. event, we always write to let you know how much was raised, and if we can, we tell you what the money will be spent on.

We also have a notice board in the playground that aims to keep you up to date with the latest P.T.F.A. news, events & offers. We try to update the board after every P.T.F.A. meeting.

P.T.F.A. activities are also reported on in the school newsletter.

This year we have been using ‘Whatsapp’ to get messages out to our active members.
